ACCA Akron Canton Area Chapter HEAT the TOWN program has partnered with Rebuilding Together. The Heat the Town Program does not receive any government funding and relies solely on volunteers for donations of cash, labor, equipment and parts.
HEAT the TOWN can dramatically improve the quality of life for elderly, low-income, veterans and disabled homeowners in the Summit County area.
Volunteers will donate time, money and parts to this program. Volunteers provide a ray of sun light, a smile and a helping hand to people who need it the most.
We need service techs, installers, helpers, dispatchers, owners, managers, friends and family to help.
Contractors are needed to volunteer the use of their trucks and to get their technicians to volunteer their time on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 to give something back to the community.
Non-technical help is needed to ride with technicians, talk with the homeowners while the technician is making the needed repairs, headquarters staff, food preparers, and helping in so other ways that all are welcome.
Volunteers run a couple service calls and report back to headquarters for a great lunch. The feeling of helping someone in need is payment enough for a few hours of your time. You see and make friends in the industry.
Volunteers install smoke detectors and/or carbon monoxide detectors or replace batteries in existing detectors.
